Ambassador Satnam Jit Singh retired from the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in December 2003 after serving as a diplomat for nearly 34 years, including six terms as India’s Ambassador in different parts of the world. Before that, he worked as an engineer in the Indian Army for nearly 6 years. since his retirement, Mr. Singh has been focussing on issues relating to humanitarian disarmament and disabled war veterans.

Mrs Rinku Singh is an interior designer, with her interests extending to landscapping, painting, choreography and most of all charity work. As a senior Indian diplomat’s  spouse, she has travelled and stayed in all parts of the world taking keen interest in various cultures and traditions while also working for local charities. During her stay in Zambia (Africa), Mrs Singh set up a Mother Teressa Home from scratch to look after orphans of deceased AIDS patients, raising funds partly through cultural activities.
